Mother's diet will contribute to Child's obesity

Research has been performed that suggests that in order to change the obesity epidemic that faces the western world a shift of focus should be made to highlight the diet of a pregnant mother.

An international study that was based in Southampton but included scientist from Singapore and New Zealand focused their research upon the effects of a pregnant mother's diet and how it influences the child's tendency to store fat. The study showed that a mother's diet has the influence to alter the DNA of the child. The effects of the diet of a pregnant mother will influence the DNA of the child regardless of the weight of the mother or the birth weight of the newborn.

It is common knowledge that exercise, diet, genetics and overall lifestyle all play a role in obesity but now another tangent is added to the list of what increases obesity; a mother diet. The epigenetic was measured from 300 newborns and the results strongly suggested that between the ages of 6 and 9 obesity would be evident.

Now more than ever there is countless evidence that supports the theory that diet and nutrition are essential in living a long healthy life and now what a pregnant mother eats will have a strong say in her growing child's ability or inability to reduce fat. Pregnant mothers must realize that what they put into their mouths will have a large affect upon their health and happiness and also the health and happiness of their growing baby.

Depression, chronic pain, emotional instability, low self confidence and many diseases are often direct results from obesity. By a pregnant woman eating a balanced diet fortified with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, water and vitamins her body will be stronger and her baby will be healthier and avoid the DNA change that leads to obesity.

Lifestyle and nutrition must become an essential element in everyone's life. The results of inadequate self control and poor eating will have lasting effects with damaging results. Remember that growing child within the uterus is relying 100% upon the mother; the choices of the mother will impact that helpless child. Make the best choices, choice health first.?
